Snowy Saturday

Well, first let me say that I was really hoping to procrastinate a few days before I put up this post. I really usually dwell on things (put it off) for a few days before I put up a blog about it. Then I saw TONS of posts on blogs about the weather. I saw zillions of pictures on Facebook, and I had guilt. So instead of sleeping, like I should be, here are my pictures from the blizzard.
This was the view out of my front door yesterday during the snow. We didn't go outside and play yesterday - seriously yuck! I saw that a ton of people went out yesterday. We were not those people. This was the view of my backyard this morning. The weather was much nicer - even with all the snow.
We had to bundle up all the kiddos to go outside. Most of the time, when it does snow, we bundle up the kids, take them outside, and in world record time are back inside warming up. Today was much better, and they actually played for quite some time. Macy enjoyed making snow angels!

Lane mostly just tripped and fell. The snow was up to his waist in most places.

Kota thought the snow was grand. I liked that I didn't have to change his clothes or do any extra laundry for him!

Daddy makes an excellent sled puller. He will be sleeping well tonight!

Like father, like son. I really think Macy got the best of this deal. Maybe Branson will sleep well too!
Look at that beautiful face!

Lane wanted in sooner than the others. I am guessing that it was because he spent more time laying in the snow than playing in it. Made for a wet, cold baby who was ready to cuddle and warm up.
Soon they were all in, warming up and having some hot chocolate!

Our Dallas Trip to Pinks All Out

I took about 300 pictures this last week. Here are some of my favorites. I spared you looking through all of them!

Slick Roads, Oh No!

The last couple of days have been snowy, rainy and pretty chilly here. Those conditions made the roads slick and driving hazardous. One of our friends was involved in an accident which really destroyed (for lack of a better word) his truck. He "had" one of the cleanest older trucks around, but now it will be used for parts or relagated to a junkyard. The accident seems to have mangled every side of the truck.
But you can tell where the force of the impact was.

His truck may be a mangled mess, but we are all so thankful that he is okay and was able to walk away. He can always buy another car, but he is by and far more important to his friends and family.

If he is anything like Dan, as soon as he is feeling up to it, he will be shopping for a new car. Well, if he is really like Dan he already is.

Make-a-Wish

Last weekend our family was consumed with the Make-A-Wish car show. It is a week full of getting the cars prepared, selling tickets, and running back and forth to the Civic Center over and over. Some years our family only has one car in, but this was a big year for us. We had five cars there this last weekend. We had move in on Friday night. I chose to take my pictures then so I didn't take a zillion pictures of people I don't know. Saturday and Sunday are so swamped and full!
Papa Tom brought out his Gran Torino since the new paint and interior were finished. Grandpa Ralph brought the 1958 Ford Hardtop Retractable. It always draws a crowd. Most people haven't seen one of these operate before.
Of course we took Dan's 1966 Fairlane. I got all 4 of them in one picture with no one crying. Yea for me!

On Saturday morning, Macy and I ditched the show and the boys and went shopping! We even stopped for coffee. She is too precious one-on-one! Then we met up with the boys for lunch. Branson had taken over the job of photographer with his camera so he snapped our picture.

Branson took a ton of pictures of these.

And these.
These are model cars. Funny to me that someone puts together model cars to look old and junky - just like the Fleischman's like them!

Here is Aunt Krista's car. Uncle Pat claims it, but sometimes he has to remember the truth. Branson likes to angle the camera so the whole car is as big as possible and still fits in the frame.

Here is Uncle Pat's car - his 1957 Ford.

We had a great weekend, and the kids loved looking at the cars. Not to mention the money raised here goes to an awesome cause, and it is a climate controlled indoor show. I don't know if there is another car show this good all year!
