Pumpkin Patch

This past Friday our MOM's club went on an outing to the pumpkin patch. Macy is starting to be funny about taking pictures. She now poses. She plopped herself down on this pumpkin and was ready to start! ( I think she could have chosen a better looking pumpkin, but hey she was looking at me!) Lane found a wagon and decided to pull it all around the pumpkin patch, gathering all his favorites. This includes any pumpkin he is able to lift without help!
How about this one?

Macy and one of her friends were having fun. I have some cute serious pictures of them, but this one was too fun to pass up!

Monkey see, monkey do. Macy sat here for pictures. . . . . guess I am supposed to as well!

Not one to pass up a photo opportunity. . . . She returns!

Branson misses out on some of our MOM's club activities. But he came home from school with a great big smile, and that just melts his momma's heart.

Branson's Crazy Hair Day

Call me crazy . . . .but I thought the day I saw my child with purple spiky hair, he would be a teenager going through some sort of rebellious stage. I didn't think it was going to be me getting him up a little early to put gobs of gel and purple hair spray in it! Never mind he had to pay a dollar to do this to his hair. How is it they can make you donate money to something? If I don't donate money to the charity they pick, my kid gets singled out. No fun activities for the non-donating kid. Who comes up with this crap? Why can't I pick a charity of my choice? Be it forced or not, we had fun doing it this morning. He looked adorable and was excited to have "crazy hair" today. I just hope with the rain, it doesn't run down his face.
Maybe he will get it out of his system now and spare me as a teenager. I am not going to hold my breath!

Just a couple quick notes. . . .

First thing is first. . . . .

Branson had a better time at recess yesterday. He had 2 bad ones in a row, and then we came up with some different ideas. The third day he found several kids to play with. He is now taking his own football and making his own fun. So say a quick prayer that the good days continue. It breaks my heart to see him so sad.

He did awesome on his report card. He got straight A's. For someone that seems to put no effort into school, he does great!

For any of you that didn't know, Dan won Ford Muscle Pick at the Goodguy's car show at Texas Motor Speedway this last weekend. We were all proud of him. He has put a lot of work into his Fairlane. Papa Tom, Pat, Krista, Ralph, Marlene, and Macy went with him. There aren't any digital pictures. I wasn't about to let mine go. Yes I let my daughter go . . . . but not my camera. Sad isn't it. Actually I let Macy go to keep Dan in line. She is an excellent boss.

I know there was something else I was going to post, but it seems to be lost in my head somewhere . . . . . If I find it, I will edit this post and add it!

Branson . . .

Branson has the best music teacher, Mr. Stickrod. He might be borderline crazy, but he is AWESOME! Mr. Stickrod voluntarily took 70 3rd grade kids to the opera on Friday night! I don't know if I would take even 1 3rd grade kid to the opera. . . . I don't know if I would take me to the opera. Anyway, Branson wanted to get dressed up in his suit so I saw this as an opportunity to take some pictures. Branson thought otherwise! Other than that . . . I have been thinking . . . . and I have decided that as much trouble as little kids can be I am not letting mine get any older. When they are this size, Mommies can fix almost all of their problems. Look what a smile you can get from even just an Organic Crispy Rice bar - - seriously I don't think I would be happy with these! But when you are 2 it just might be the solution to nearly all problems.
The bigger they get the less helpful you are. Yesterday Branson came home from school and told me that he had a bad day. The other kids wouldn't let him play with them. He apparently asked several kids if he could join their game and they yelled at him and told him to go away. Crying, he told me that he sat under a tree alone all recess. Relieved when he heard the bell to go it, he was again devastated when it was only time for the other class to go in. He looked at me through tears and said, "I though recess was supposed to be the fun part of the day.?.?.?" I have never in my life wanted to physically strangle children I don't even know, but last night I was ready to hunt them down! He has more strength than I do . . . he got up this morning happy and ready to go to school. His resilience was amazing to me. No hesitation, no question, no mention of the day before . . . . amazing really.
Here are a couple of pictures from this weekend. He is always paired up with the big kids. this one wasn't so tall, but just hefty.

Here he is going after the quarterback. I love his faces when he is playing. This is serious stuff to him!

Go Branson. . . . . . I guess that is what I am resigned to be. . . . his cheerleader from here on out. But trust me . . . If I find those kids . . . . .

Macy turns 4!

Yes, I know, her party was almost a week ago. I am a bad blogger. You should see my house - -it looks like the party was just yesterday! So time just got away from me. She picked out a princess carriage cake. She was so excited to blow out her candles. She just cracks me up - - look at that face!
The girl got Barbie's galore - - Barbies, pets, a case, swimming pools, and of course "the car." Here she is trying to open the indestructible wrap on her new pink ride. I don't know what toy manufacturers think when they put toys in packages. I guess they are afraid the child might actually get to play with the toy and find out it wasn't as cool as the manufacturers claimed it was!

You wouldn't believe who wanted to play with the car (or has played with it for hours since then).

Then the party just got out of hand . . . . Dan doing his best Hannah Montana impression. This could have only been topped by one thing.

Gary doing his.
So who do you think did a better job? Surprisingly I think Gary pulled it off a bit better. He at least got the wig on straight!

Branson's 1st Football Game

You can tell by the look on Branson's face that this is serious business. It is really funny to watch him play "flag" football. The child really just wants to take someone out. They can still block and do a few things, but they aren't allowed to actually tackle. At practice the coach usually lines up opposite Branson. So rightfully so - -he got lined up across from their biggest player. He was WAY bigger than Branson! Branson didn't seem to mind at all!
The big kid was trying to knock the ball out of our guys hands.

Branson wasn't about to let that happen. I think they call that a tackle. . . .or did I miss something.

Reflecting on what was going on . . . sometimes I wish I knew what was going on inside that mind.

Lane is 2!!!!!

The first order of business for Lanie's birthday was a haircut. We love his little blond hair, but it was getting pretty long in the back. This is a before picture - - just for comparisons sake.Lane has been infatuated with Lighting McQueen and the movie, Cars. So I made a cake with his favorite things on it. He has carried the firetruck, Red, around since he got it off the cake.
Here we are planning on blowing out the candles.

He finally got some cake, but he wouldn't let go of the Cars off the top long enough to eat it. If it weren't for a few kind souls that took pity on him and fed him, he wouldn't have gotten any birthday cake or ice cream at all!
Opening presents is always fun. However, I think Macy opened more than Lane. He didn't really dive in until he was about done!

Lane got lots of goodies for the kids to check out!
Lane got to open a few presents sitting in NeeNee's lap. The other kids were held at bay for a few moments!
See my new haircut! Here is an unbrushed, after picture. Amazingly it is a lot shorter than it was before - - the pictures don't do it justice! He really looks cute - - but I am not partial or anything! (am I?)
